Research Experience for Undergraduates
on Nanotechnology and Materials Systems
May 30 - August 3, 2007
Texas Engineering Experiment Station
Texas A&M University System
College Station, Texas
This Research Experience for Undergraduates Site is Sponsored By:
Air Force Office of Scientific Research, U.S. Air Force, Department of Defense
National Science Foundation NSF Grant No. 0453578
NASA Cooperative Agreement No. NCC1-02038
Air Force Research Laboratory Contract No. FA8650-05-D-1912
Focus
- To emphasize materials research across the multiple physical scales, nano through systems level.
- For students conducting research at the nano-level to appreciate the impact on system design, and students working on the macro-system level to appreciate the need to consider the nano-scale.
- To expose students to the concepts of “top-down” and “bottom-up” design of engineering systems.
