H.W. Pierre, an Aerospace student worker since Spring 2005, has been offered a summer internship with Aggreko, LLC. Aggreko provides rental power generators, temperature control equipment and compressed air systems to companies around the world. Majoring in Interdisciplinary studies with a concentration on Human Resource Development, Pierre will be employed as a Human Resource Generalist responsible for duties ranging from developing programs and designing intervention strategies to assisting in training, instructional design and multimedia programs, Pierre says, “I plan to use this internship to gain hands on experience in my field as well as establish connections for future job possibilities”. This faithful student worker has worked with the Aerospace Engineering Department for the past two years, devoting at least 25-38 hours a week while also being enrolled as a full time student. “I will definitely miss the faculty and staff at the Aerospace Department because they are my extended family members”, says Pierre. With an expected graduation in December 2007, Pierre will return to the Department in the fall 2007 semester at the completion of the internship.
